I have a winch on a portable mount, a 2 inch receiver in the front and the rear with power cables/connectors running to both for the winch. That way I can switch it front to back as needed and can take it off the truck when I'm not using it. Worked great so far.:toothless

i already got the c channel and all the hardware so im prolly gonna stick with the in frame cut bumper for now.. thanks for the input.. that does sound like a good clean setup as well

you should seriously consider the 2 inch receiver front and back. Sometimes you might not want to continue going forward...

I used a piece of flat 1/2" steel to the bottom of the frame rails. Then I cut the middle out of a 77 F150 bumper, and bolted that to the front of the frame rails. Not much strength with the bumperettes, but it gives it a more finished look. I will try to post some pics tomorrow.

Here is mine with the bumper off. I had to relocate the angle brackets on the horns and the vertical mounts on the bumper
