Anyone ever removed the automatic "shifter" on the column? The shaft that runs down the steering column broke. Anything special I need to know before trying to replace this?

Have a 92 bronco with a 302 and edod?

$26.65 from ford. Not bad at all. Wonder how much trouble it is going to be to put the shifter and the old internals back into the new shaft.

How did you break the shaft?? Never heard of that happening on the newer trucks.

It has been loose since I bought it. Went to put it in drive today and it popped. Luckily I was still able to put it in drive to get home. Pulled every thing apart and it was broken about 3 inches from the end.

I understand this Steve. But at the time I was in a hurry and was going to see if I could get a quick response. I am one of the unlucky few in this world that still have dial-up (I live far, far out in the woods) and "searching" sometimes takes quite a while. Maybe next time you will post a link to help me out.;)

Thanks and have a blessed day.

Chris
