So this week was our big Hog hunting trip in South Macon Ga. Shane (Broncobill) got a nice 4 point. The rack was very big, but it was a big bodied 4 point. I was the only one who saw hogs, and they were running through the woods behind me on my left side, I am left handed so I couldn't get a shot at them and they never came out in front of me.

Okay, so the run we had with my bronco.

I was having a little fun with the Bronk on some muddy trails they had on this Wildlife refuge. There was a long, not so deep mud hole that we had passed on our way to check in Wednesday night. On the way back I had decided that I wanted to punch it through the mud hole and spin some tires. Now I had intended to slow down before I got to the hole so I wasn't going to fast through it. By the time I saw it, it was too late to really slow down so around 45 MPH I hit the mud hole and punched the stupid pedal to the floor. After some high speed slipping and sliding I was coming out of the mud (note: this was all in a few seconds) and there is a large water hole right on the back side of the mud hole. So as I came to the end of the mud I turned the wheel some to try and straddle the majority of the water. At the end of the mud was a "small" hump that put the front tires in the air a little, since I wasn't turning as I wanted to I had turned my wheel some more mid air. When my front tires came down the truck pulled towards the woods. As I over corrected I managed to get the Bronco to do a high speed (again, probably around 45 MPH) 180 on a trail no wider then 10-12 feet. We came to a rest in a ditch on the side of the road....with absolutely no damage what so ever. After making sure everyone was okay, and with the engine still running, turned the truck around and drove out.

As we were leaving for Walmart for supplies, Broncobill eloquently put the event as he stated "I need to buy some extra underwear."

I did a similiar move in a Chuvitte once on a rainy morning. There was oncoming traffic also. I did a complete 360 and ended up still in my lane. The sad part is I wasn't smart enought to slow down with the slick tires and later the same day it happened again at a different place. No injurys at all, and I made tires a priority after that.

Ya, I had done that on a highway in my 89 5.0, do two 360's into a median heading towards the oncoming traffic (pouring sheets of rain), came to a stop, drove out, got new back tires next day. You always think you can run them forever, but you really can't.

yup, i just got myself some new tires, they aren't the 35" swampers i was plannin on getting but after hitting a snowy (just SNOWY, NOT icey) road the other day and havin a hellova time turning and accelerating, i decided the 33's that have a SHITTY tread pattern and are getting low on tread needed to go... replaced with 31" goodyear long trails, nice tires, especially for 250 mounted and balanced :D...

This ain't a 4 wheeling story but yours reminded me when I was stationed at Ft Lewis, WA (near I-5) in the early 80's, had a 73 'Cuda with M 50s on the rear, and skinnies up front. Hit some rain at speed on the interstate one day and spun it 5 times. Never hit a concrete divider or any other car or anything. I distinctly remember watching the headlights of the cars behind me. Got her straightened out and the pedal back down and continued to march. God watches out for fools and children. Dave

my mom had a blow out in I-5 by tacoma. one of her back tires prematurely explode on something and she hydro planed and only managed to hit the concreate dividers twice with minimal damage in the back but bent the frame up front. kind of the reason im buying her new tires for christmas.
