mine front driveshaft won't disengage. it shifts hi and low range no problem, even disengages in neutral but when i shift into 2hi the driveshaft stays engaged. something seems fubar....

Make shure your hubs are fully disengaging.

So when youre in N the front dshaft spins free, but not in 2wd? Id bet the linkages inside are finally worn out.

You need to do some more diagnostics. Is it the transfer case or the hubs? Jack up the front end and find out.

i dont run hubs, i run drive flanges and they are not in right now.

rep you are correct, it spins free in N but in 2wd it still spins.

I'd bet a shift fork is bent.
I have seen it happed on the 1354's so I would its just as likely on the 1356

can it be bent back or you think i will need a new one? i have a spare electric shift version sitting in the garage, would the one off that work?
