IIRC the old model A fords use to have mono spring packs up front inverted like that. Its old technology, but it does work.....i wouldn't say it works WELL...coilovers or bags would have been a better choice i think, but itsj ust a show truck, so it doesn't really matter. He probably gets cool points for that suspension

Not really diffrent than a 1/4 elliptical used on rock crawlers.

shhhh, you'll piss of vette owners

the transverse leaf spring has several advantages, weighs less, functions somewhat as a sway bar, easily adjustable ride height,
i had no clue vette's used 'em. Must have been the old ones from the 50s right?

I don't think i would ever want to fabricate one onto a car or truck

1963-1980 used a steel multi leaf one
1980-1982 composite single leaf spring was an option
1984-present composite single leaf spring standard on the front and rear

it's often called the "corvette leaf spring"

I did not know that. I thought the newer ones had coils and independant front and rear

it's independent alright
but still uses a leaf spring
hell i can lower mine by getting longer bolts for the back and cutting the front spring pads down

I remember seeing something in a Petersen's 4wheel about monoleafs for Jeeps that where made of like plexiglass or something... I don't remember much about it but I think they said they flexed pretty good.. I didn't look at the link but yea, you get what I'm saying...

I have that issue... they were mounted like normal leafs though.

that just looks like chit though... maybe he ran out of money when he got to the rear suspension :shrug
