I am thinking of adding a 1" or 2" carb spacer. I have a eddlebrock 650cfm carb and an eddelbrock performer (IIRC) single plane Al intake.

In hopes of gaining a bit of cheap torque, does anyone have a comment about spacers? maybe like these:

Anytime you add length to the intake it will increase torque, for $20 I say give it a try!

might want to trade out intakes, as a single plane is more for higher rpm hp gains.

I'd go with (and did) something that helps prevent heat transfer to the carb like this:

I still have the AL one, but dont use it any more in favor of the plastic one.

I have heard that the plastic spacers are better, less prone to cracking and like psychlo said less heat transfer.
