i have a 93 bronco with 351 auto, stock exhaust setup with the duel cat setup, i'm think they are cloged,i want to replace the cats with a hi flow less restrictive type or probably go without the cats all together..has anyone gone about this way running without them does it affect the computer {i know it wont pass emissons} i'm just looking for more power out of it or remove the last converter put a test pipe in there and run a flowmaster or a gibsom setup.....need ideas.........

I have my two cats and no muffler, just straight pipe exiting in front of my right rear tire. It sounds pretty good and is not to loud. My truck has 203,000+ miles so your cats are fine, and you'd probably pass an emisions test without them.

That was a nice thread about O2 sensors instead of cats. :goodfinge

I say to keep the single set up and step it up to a single 3" pipe. A single 3" will flow just as good as, if not better than, dual 2.25". Plus you get better bottom end than you would with dual 2.25". Of course, I'm presuming you'll be getting 2.25"? Keep the cats, just get a high flow. Catco has a 50 state legal replacement. removing the cats would be a federal offense, but some states just don't care. But when they do find out....:shocked With today's advancements in cats I'd say that running without them would be no different than running with good quality high flow ones.

from what I read he wanted to take his cats off beacause he thinks there clogged, his question was will it effect his computer... the o2 sensor's talks to the computer,so my post wasnt so uninformative. :goodfinge. As for the cats cut them off, if your state doesnt have emission laws dont worry about cops, just dont be stupid ex: sit in the middle of a parking lot and rev your engine thinking your cool.

well i have heard of some guys cutting out the cats and haveing a probelm but cause of a lack of back pressure..i just want to avoid any probelms with the truck running good..i think i'm just gonna cut those two #uckers of and go with either the flowmaster 50 series or the gibson set up

im also cutting mine off and putting dual 2.25 pipes on, maybe a dual in dual out borla muffler, im going to just clamp peices of straight pipe in where my cats should be so when ifind a cat i really like i can just unclamp it and put on in there.

Plus you get better bottom end than you would with dual 2.25".
i heard you say better bottom end, thats exactly what i want! but i want dual too... is there a compromise? can i have dual with the right cats and muffler and get good bottom end? i think a bigger problem with my bottom end is my clutch, so first things first...
