Did some work on the red parts truck today. Started it again and pulled all 8 injectors. I'm taking them to a diesel shop tomorrow to have them pop tested/rebuilt if they need it. Demand for these trucks is pretty high so once we get it going should be able to flog it pretty easy. Also found out that the crappy feeling in the clutch probably has something to do with the huge slop in the pedal assembly.

Now onto my truck. She's in rough shape body wise but the engine is a lot cleaner, ie less oil and diesel leaks. I'm probably not going to do too much to this truck until the red one is sold.

Little update. Had the injectors tested and found out that apparently 7 of 8 injectors have bad spray patterns, leak and don't hold pressure. Of course the shop offered to sell us 8 at 100$ a piece but we've decided to go online at more like 50$ a piece with shipping from the U.S. I'm fairly hopeful that this is the cause of the problems with this truck. Won't be any updates for a while as the injectors will take two weeks to get here.

Found out that the previous owner robbed the starter out of it and cut all the wires off when he did that

I guess it's time for an update. I was taking the red truck for a test drive after the new injectors and it sent a rod through the side of the block on the highway. I pulled the transmission and have all the parts for a ZF5 swap kit for a diesel owner who wants to convert from automatic. My truck on the other hand has been wired up and is almost ready to start but the batteries are a bit weak. Compression on the black truck was all around 300 or so. Once I get it running it's on to pulling the drive train and prepping it for installation into the bronco.

Ok I got the parts truck running finally after some amount of effort. Feeling a lot better about this now.

It doesn't smoke and seems to run pretty decent but I shut it off pretty quick as it was running off a jerry can and the 20 lbs of rat turds were starting to smoke lol.
I've got to go find me a 2k engine stand and will be starting to get this engine pulled
