none of the parts store will read obd1 codes.

Heres how to do it. Get your video camera and video the CEL light. Count your flashes on the computer, its easier. You can pause and review the video.

You need to rev the engine, turn the steering wheel, press the brake at a certain time during the scan. I forgot when.

the dealer will use a odb1 scanner. You can buy them for about $50-75.

I finally found when to do the dynamic response. Ill post it for future reference since it was posted in 2005 last time.

bout halfway through the KOER test there would have been a flash WOT the throttle, turn the steering wheel, press the brake.

During a KOEO test you get 2 sets of test results.

The first is the KOEO (key on engine off)test results this test tests the sensors and actuators for the correct readings for the vehicle being off.

The second is the KAM (keep alive memory) this will give you all the codes that the vehicle has stored wile it is running.
