Hey everyone, im getting ready to ream the knuckels on my D44 (getting my axel ready for the sas), got a used set of TRE off a buddys 86 chevy 1/2 ton but wanted to check and make sure they are the right ones. just wanted to know if the taper diameter is the same as the ford taper diameter. the set off my buddys truck fit on my axel. i know the chevy tre's have a larger diameter thread than the ford tre's.
Thanks

You have the wrong ones. The taper is the same pitch (angle), but it should be alot bigger, so that it will not fit into a stock ford knuckle or pitman arm unless you ream the hole out so the opening is bigger.

Thanks reptillikus, i thought they were the wrong ones but wanted to be sure. I have the part # for the corect ones but havnt picked them up yet, i dont wheel hard enough to need a straight axel but the truck needs both raadius arms, both radius arm brackets, 2 balljoints, and and most seals and i plan on keeping the truck so why not.
Thanks again,
