Anybody know of any cheaper ways to convert the drum brakes into disc brakes? Instead of buying the kit..........??????????????????

What is this axle going in? Im sure you can find the parts at a yard, you'll need the caliper brackets, knuckles, and hubs.

I was planning to put into my Bronco since it was a high pinion but I dont know if I will be able to find the stuff for disk brakes at a junk yard since it has kingpin knuckles.

Does anyone know if Ford ever made a disk brake setup with Kingpins?

Not on a Dana 44.

I've seen custom backing plate that us a Chevy style caliper on Ford Kingpins. However that was the large style King pin, you've the smaller style.
I've also remember something about someone removing the inner kingpin knuckle and getting some balljoint knuckles on....

well i guess i am gonna either find a cheaper conversion kit or find another axel that already has disk brakes. Unless there are any other suggestions?

Find a 78/79 D44 and take the knuckles out. You can usually find them for about $150

Make sure they have 2 3/4" tubes, all the 78-79 ones I've seen and measured are 3".

I was the one thinking about taking the inner c's out and swapping in balljoint units. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to. I'm currently gathering parts.

Yeah I think i'm gonna just find a one with discs already on it that way I don't have to go to all the extra work .

Don't have the knuckles or spindles, but with my understanding you can't use them anyways

Anyone know what year they started putt'n disc brakes on pickups??

I thought it was just in 78's and 9's , but I'm not sure
