As I'm driving, the coolant indicator on the dash slowly creeps to far to the right and the engine light comes on beside the steering wheel... after a few minutes of driving, I hear a weird crumbling sound coming from behind the glove compartment and the temp goes back down and the engine light goes off... easiest way to diagnose/fix problem? Happens everytime I go anywhere.

are you sure the coolant is full? Not just the overflow bottle? when you remove the radiator cap (truck should be cold) the coolant should be very near the top.

sometimes the hose gets clogged between the radiator and the bottle.
