Discovered coolant leak, replaced thermostat, gasket, radiator cap, flushed radiator, water pump only a few months old. Still runs hot (just below the top of the Normal range), can't seem to add more coolant. Upper rad hose gets very hard, as if under extreme pressure (more than normal), feels like it might burst. Any thoughts?

Compare the pressure of the top hose to the bottom. If the upper has more pressure, you probably have a restriction in the radiator, and you're feeling the normal system pressure (~12psi) plus the pressure generated by the water pump.

If they're the same, then the cap isn't venting properly.

Problem solved

Caved in, took it to my mechanic, had to replace radiator. He felt around the radiator and felt cold spots. Diagnosed it right away. Thanks for reply(ies).
