I have a friend that has a 98 sexpiditoon he was talking about doing a 3g alt upgrade but when he popped his hood it looked like he already had one but I'm not sure on the difference between a 3g and a 4G alt. If anyone can help me save my friend some money and trouble let me know. Thanks guys

an expedition should have a 3g at least....it may be a 4g. Either way, its a good alternator. Only upgrade would be to a higher amperage unit
