i have a 94 fsb 351 and i have noticed that when i have my lights on my heater going and my fog lights on my volt gauge is really low at idol and in gear the needle sits right on the "n" on the gauge maybe just before the n also when i have my rear defrost on in drops a little lower and when im driving every now and then the needle will bounce around on the gauge is this due to a crummy alt? i also read about people talking about the 3g alt how can you tell if it is a 3g alt or not also will it bolt right on or will it be a major swap i want to go to the junk yard and try to find one if that will solve my problem any info will help thanks in advance

3G will fix it. unless it's a ground problem. 3G is a really easy swap. it was the first real mod i did to my truck. just make sure you get the right one.
how will i know if it is the right one or if it is even a 3g alt
