I was adjusting my curb idle and it doesn't seem to want to go any lower. For the last 3/4 to 1 whole turn it hasn't seemed to take it any lower. It's sitting around 1000rpm. What else can keep the engine from idling lower? I can push on the throttle and get lower rpms, but only until I let go.

Is the throttle cable binding or catching on anything?

Check the automatic/electric choke area, if there is an adjustment screw there, turn it out. I've had that problem in the past and found it to be choke related.

Also, check for vacuum leaks.

1000 sounds good to me. Why do you want to go lower?

Because timing "should" be done at 800 rpm max. And I know from the past that it can handle running at that. :D
