Custom cam company recommendations

Need a custom cam ground for a 5.0. I have a quote from these guys:

Jones Cam Designs - 7859 Commerce Dr. Denver, NC 28037 - (704)489-2449

But I found them online and have no other info. Tried searching and didn't see what I needed.

Who is good, but doesn't need an arm or my first born for payment?

Or, anyone here from around there and have any familiarity with them? I sent an email to the City Hall there, no response yet.

Thanks!

Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction. Huge on the mustang and LS scene. He designed my cam and @Kingfish999
That's one of the names I was trying to remember. Thanks!

It's not the cost of the place I mentioned - it's more I've not heard of them and didn't know if someone here has. Just nervous since I'm on the 'other' coast.

I've seen Brent Lykins get recommended for Ford cams. I can't give a personal recommendation as I haven't used him before.

Schneider Racing grinds everything to order and can do custom grinds. Give em a call. Jerry is real nice and knows his stuff. They have been around for 50 years. Im running one of their cams in my 300 inline 6. Custom is not much more than off-the-shelf since everything is ground to order.
I will give them a call I think.
My biggest issue is I haven't yet heard of anyone with knowledge of the first place. I sent an email to that town's city hall type thing with no response. Makes me Leary.

ive had 2 cams done by Ed at FTI. he also helped me plan my builds abit to maximize them. im assuming you will probably want to run roller cam instead of flat tappet. he wont give you much info unless you pay for a cam. it will also have specs you might think are really high (burtnoutaccountant questioned his on mustang forums) but will work for yuor useage

what are you doing engine wise? if you are using stock heads, theres really no point doing a cam. but if your going aluminum then i defiantly recommend it. are you Carb, MAP or MAF? also intake will be a big factor. if using something liek the Edelbrock Truck Performer, that might be a limiting factor for some builds. being a 302 base engine you have a decent selectino of better intakes if staying EFI

It is actually for my little hot rod car - an '81 Granada 4-door. It currently has a pretty stout .040 over small block, but it's both hydraulic flat tappet and a two-piece rear main.
New motor is/will be a 347, roller cam, AFR185, RPM airgap, ... All the good stuff like roller rockers. Running a FiTech EFI.
Current motor runs perfect, I've put 8000 miles on it in the last two years.
Car is a Fox body so involved in all those forums and such too.
This is it currently.
Also had a 5-speed, all aftermarket suspension, etc. It's a hoot to drive.

New motor block is going to be red just for fun. Painted the block and timing cover today.

Now that is a sleeper!

The 351 in my 94 bronco was painted red with those same valve covers.

Also had those style of covers and a matching air cleaner on my 79 Z28, but with chevy insignia of course. (blech that C word tastes nasty in my mouth!)
Thanks! I've set off a car alarm or two... It's fun to watch people do double takes. What they hear and what they see just don't match. Lol.
It's 10:1 through shorties, an off road pipe and Flow master Outlaw dumps.
But I hope to have this new motor built by the end of summer. Should take me from the current ~340hp to well over 400, maybe around 430 with even more torque.
It currently has a Crane 268 cam, so super strong mid range. A buddy of mine needs a motor for his Bronco (early 70's model I think) so I might sell it to him for a screaming deal.

I have not used him but he is a pretty well respected guy in the high performance world.

Thanks! Perhaps I will go with him then. Just glad someone besides the interweb can confirm.

Those 94/95 wheels look great on that thing.

Thanks! They are from LMR in factory 4-lug 17x8. I like the history - Ford used a metric wheel in the early 80's called the TRX. It never caught on so was discontinued. The 94/95 tri-bars were a throw back style to honor them. These are patterned after those.

I was wondering if you did the 5 lug conversion. I had 5 fox bodies back in the day, as well as 4 SN95's. Several ended up with 347's at one point or another. I am currently trying to talk a woman into selling her daily driven 93 Cobra. Paint is shot on it, interior is mostly as well. But, it's a 93 Cobra.
Last year, very desirable!
I do plan a rear disc conversion just because I hate drums. But staying 4-lug as I will drive in a spirited fashion within those limits. Most of the time. Lol.

Just because people have actually used and had good results I ordered a custom cam from Schneider today.

Are you keeping the car NA? Or using a power adder in the future? (N20, Super Charger, etc?)

Specs?! Did you get their lifters and formula 2 break in additive? Without their lifters, their warranty is void. I also run their formula 3 ZDDP additive.

Im running their off the shelf 140H grind in my 300.
