I have a 83 bronco and bought seat out of a 98 expedition.
The base or bracket is to tall.
I am not sure I can shorten it enough to make it work.
Anyone try putting new seat in a older bronco?
Is the only way to make it work is used bronco bases?
thanks

Use your seat brackets and the expy seats. Remove everything from the bottom of the expy seat, and set your base on there. Drill and tap a hole on each corner.

03 mustang seats were pretty easy to swap into my 85 doing it this way.

My bronco has a bench seat. Do you think mounting them on that would be ok?
The salvage yard kinda close to me does not really have anything for pickups that old. No bronco parts..
This bronco will be my daily driver so no one really will be riding in the back any way.

If you can find a similar year F150 in a local wrecking yard to salvage the bucket seat brackets you need, you'll save yourself a lot of time and trouble.

I do think mounting to the bench bracket would be fine, though you may want to do a console of some kind in middle as so it doesnt look goofy. Doing it this way the console would move with the seats, so it might actually be an advantage.
