I can get a good deal on a Dana 60 out of a 78 1 ton Ford that I'd like to swap in place of the rear 8.8 in my 90 Bronco. Can anybody tell me what is involved and what extra parts I will need (Spring perches...)? Also can I get an adapter to keep my 5 lug 15 inch rims? Thanks a lot.

Should be plug n play, even your old u-bolts and spring plates should work.

Don't even waste your time trying to keep 5 lugs.

Thanks for the responses. Ok so its a no go on the 5 lug, but I can at least keep the 15 inch rims? I ask because I recently got new 35 inch tires just before the rear end started making noise. Also will I have to do any grinding for the 15s to fit? Just making sure I know what I'm getting into.

From what I know a rear in a78-f350 is a 70, not a 60. They look very similar and are very easily confused. Pray it is a 70. They have 10.5" ring gear, 1.5" 35 spline shafts and way more clearance than either a 14 bolt or a 10.5.

Pull one axleshaft to check. if it is 1", you gotta 60. If it is 1.5, you're lucky:thumbup

Yes the wheels should fit, but test fit one first.
