Anyone have any advice? The check engine light flashing reveals "always running rich". I've replaced the plugs, rotor, cap, fuel filter, & o2 sensor. Some parts because it was just time to do it. Damn light still keeps coming on. Help!

What engine is it. Some broncos have more that 1 o2 sensor also. Please fill out your sig line with your stats.

when you changed all those things... did you have the battery disconnected??? In EEC-IV environment, that should clear the codes from the computer memory... I would suggest getting the $35 engine code reader from about any decent autoparts store. They work great, as long as you don't have some moron doing his lawn 20 feet away while you're doing it... LOL... Long story... LOL... Anyway... you may have residual codes in the EEC memory.... disconnect the battery, turn the key to the on/run position... let stand for about 15 - 20 minutes... turn key to off position... reconnect battery... run diagnostics... and watch check engine light activity...

Yes, I did clear out all the codes. Still keeps showing the same thing. Could it be the cat convertor?

Um, not that I don't trust people (but I don't )
Please give people the actual code number, not just what you read it ment somewhere. People that might be able to help you, could have large resorces to get longer explanaiton of that code. I assume it was a 42 maybe :shrug

The code # is 173, I read the Ford Fuel injection web page for explanation.

I use to have a "check engine" light problem. Mine was the result of a loose MAP sensor. Check the sensor on the intake hose to the fuel injectors and make sure it's plugged in tight.

Everything's tight on the MAP.
