Well over the past few days i have been living in the SAS forum, reading just about every thread having to do with a Dana 60 coil sas. It took forever to look through each of the 32 pages, so i figured this would eliminate many future threads on people asking questions, and also eliminate lots of searching for the users. MOD's- could we possibly make it a sticky. Also please post up with anything you think i have forgotten, or other links

Alright for the last week of so i have been trying to find a wheel company that made a 15x10, 8 on 6.5, with a 2.75 backspacing. Finally i found a thread on pirate about this one guy that works for summit-which i had called a couple times trying to find them.

Well the guy to call is ETHAN at SUMMIT- he got me a custom built set from Us Wheel, that will be drop shipped directly from the factory and be to my door in like 5 days. Two wheels cost me like 93 bucks with handling and exverything. ETHAN's extension at summit is 6354.

only draw back is on the custom wheels if you want them to come painted you are looking at another week or so turn around time to get them, i just got mine unpainted so that i could get them sooner. :twotu:

Question about spacers-
When the Cs go onto the tube for the 60, (assuming i dont want to spend a couple hours grinding,) there needs to be a spacer between the radius arm & the front cap to hold the bushings in place. Ive read that it needs to be both 1/2" and 3/4" thick. Which # is correct? I do not have a solid D44 to compare to or id just get the measurement myself.

i used 3/4, and its been working for a few years now with no premature failure of the radius arm bushings. If you over crank the radius bushings, you limit flex for one, but also really cram the crap out of the bushings, and they will split down the center and spit out on you, requiring more frequent changes. Also keep in mind, these bolts are only supposed to be to 100 pounds or something, with the .5 spacer crawler, arent you having to really work to get the cap on all the way?

SCORE, got a 4.10/11 dana 60 HP for next to nothing but I have a few questions now that im brain storming a winter project. from peoples experience, 50/50 street and trails is my trucks use. The axle is leaf sprung but we will fab whats neccesary for installation, being said.... Is a 4link front end safe for on road operation? Is a 3 ling better or do I get some weld on c's and basically swap it with my current 78 dana 44 straigh axle extended arm setup.

Any intel is much appreciated

also mods if since this is a tech writeup feel free to move my post if i shouldnt be discussing it here !
