I checked JBG and all i found was skidplates for the 66 to 77 models. The stocker that my '90 has doesn't look like much and I would like to get something tougher.

hefty's great, im sure his skid plate would be amazing, and beefy just like his bumper, and well worth $475. but to me the $475 is hard to justify to the wife for a gas tank skid plate.:thumbup
So ditch the wife, a skid plate is much more useful

I built one out of some plate I have thats just over 1/16'' thick. I drove my bronco up on a 4'' pipe with the plate under it and somehow bent it. I did this 15 years ago but it was not that hard if my memory is right.

I would use at least 3/16, with some rolls in it to make it more rigid and bends not welded, not that I dont trust my welds but I would prefer something bent.
