The poll on tailgate rattles got me thinking about this.

I replaced my striker bushings about a year ago and the doors are much better now, but still shake pretty bad over bumps (rr tracks, etc.).

I recently adjusted the striker to pull the door tighter and that helped a lot, but I noticed it was pulling the door in beyond flush - almost like it was bending the door in the middle, still pretty flush top and bottom. But it was tight, minimal over the bigger bumps. I've sinced moved it back out to flush and living with the rattles.

Would I doing any long term damage by moving the striker in too much?

I wonder if the bushings are just not thick enough leaving too much a gap when latched closed? I may try building up the bushing with tape for a short term fix and see what that does.

Have you replaced the pins in the doors?

I was having the same issue, replaced the pins in the doors about a year ago & the strikers just a couple weeks ago. Now no more shakes! :thumbup

Do the doors have any play up and down at the hing? May need hing bushings or new hinges. Check them.
