Replacing transmission, the guide pins are left in the engine and the transmission I picked up has a pin where a pin is located in the engine. How do I go about removing one of the pins? Can they be punched out? Any info is appreciated.

if you can reach the backside, i would use a punch, if not just a pair of vice grips and some wd-40...work it back and forth until it comes out.

you can heat the block or trans case with a torch to expand the metal a bit, but you do not want to heat the pin.

and ive found that it seems easier to have the pins in the tranny when installing instead of leaving them in the motor.
