I am changing the fluid, seal, and filter in my trans and I dropped the pan (after I fabbed a tool to reach the rear bolts) and swapped the filter and seal and tossed the pan back up, but how do I get the trans fluid out of the torque converter so I can replace all 12 quarts of fluid? Any trick to refilling it or just poor all 12 straight in thru the dipstick tube?

to my knowlege you can't do a complete fluid change without the proper machine cause you have to pump the fluid out of the converter and the lines.

Here is a write up on an easy way to flush the tranny, including the torque converter.

Like Tunedup said, not all converters have a drain plug, so if you pull the access panel, and find that you don't have one, then follow the steps in the link.
