ok i need to replace my driveshaft carrier bearing and i cant get the bastard off, i have the new one seen on the right, i got the caseing off of the old one but the main aprt where the bearing is stuck on there, how am i supposed to get it off?:whiteflag

all the ones i have done i have used a long puller, dremel tool with cut of disc, and maybe some torch heat if its really stubborn.

couldn't ya just cut the thing off? your just throwing it away anyway.

You would probably be best off using a hydraulic press. If you don't have one, use a torch and a hammer.

I had to press it off the d.s. for my p/u. It was a major PITA:banghead

i dont see how a press would be any use on this thing, it has to be pulled not pressed, and i cant pry at it cause the lip on the shaft is too thin,

Presses are for pressing things on and off. The bearing is held in place on the body of the press and you push down on the DS to press the DS out of the bearing(preferably with a softer piece of metal protecting the end of the DS).
