I need to drop the fuel tank in my 79 Bronco so I can get the fuel gauge working. I was wondering if there is anything I should look out for when removing the tank? Looks like it should be pretty easy, truck is high from the ground so it is easy to get under it. When I turn my key on the fuel guage goes up a little bit but still below E so I thought maybe the float has a hole and is full of fuel? I guess I will find out if it is the sending unit or float after I drop the tank.

Check the wiring from the gauge to the sending unit also. What size tank to you have?
Im not sure, I think it is a 33gallon? I know its the bigggest tank the Broncos came factory with.

I have power going to the sending unit, forgot to check and see if anything is coming back up the other wire.

Its a hole lot easier to do if there is not much gas in the tank. Other than that, its just a dirty job. Make sure that you disconnect the fill tubes, gas line, and gauge wire before you drop the tank.
