hey all i put new shoes on my 79 bronco and after 200 mile of brake in the left rear drum temp is about 140 degrees and the right rear drum is about 100 degrees after normal driving, does 140 seem too hot, i inspected everything and all looks to be good, it just seems like 140 might be a tad hot, does any one know what a normal temp would be?

Under hard braking the drums can see temps of +600*F. 140*F is normal. I would say that the hotter side has a slight amount more drag than the cooler side, but doubt it would be noticeable while testing by hand.

did you get those temps with a gun or did you just feel it?
