I decided to rip out all my carpet and most of the trim and bedliner the whole thing front to back, here are some before and after pics...

In the finished pic you see the rats nest of wires, I took the main one that goes to the tranny and ran it under the center console and under the seats out of the way.

The other small ones which goes to lower lumbar bags, stock speakers and seatbelt sensors I balled up and stuffed in the plastic trim piece covering the seat belt spool (I also used bedliner on both of those came out pretty good)

All in all it took me front to back about 10 cans and about 7 hrs which included all prep work, spraying and bolting everything back in.

Looks mint - all you need are a few floor drains and you are set!

I thought about doing this also, but decided not to. While it looks really good initially, what's it going to look like after a few weeks of mud and what not?

You'll never be able to get it looking like that again after it's been used.

its not so much the looks as the functionality. you never have to worry about getting your carpet wet again or have rust sneak up because its covered up!

True, but I'd still undercoat the sh*t out of my undercarriage. Especially with me being in Alaska. Though they don't use as much salt as they used to. It's still a pain.

Does it add sound deadening? If it did I would do that and then put carpets back in.

that is why i love the rubber flooring in my f-250 instead of the carpet. get it muddy and just hose it out!

the duplicolor looks good. for the price of 7-9 cans you should have gotten the gallon of it and the little spray gun that comes with it.

i once did a shotgun with the rattlecan stuff. i held the can farther away than norml and it seemed to have a fine-er finish instead of the thick goupy finish. i liked how it turned out.

do you have the padding under the rubber? if so it'll trap water an mildew, and help the rust
it is the factory rubber. it never had carpet. as to your question, i do not believe so, it has no softness at all

I have the factory vinyl and it has that padding in the front. I would check if I were you. Mine has no softness but I know its there.

OP did you Remove all your Trim Panels? Like the Rear as well as the Headliner? I am in the Process of doing this and want to know how the sound leves went up if you did indeed remove every panel. Looks very good btw.

Haha so many people think just because they have vinyl flooring that they don't have the padding. Think of all the water that padding is holding when they decide to hose out the interior of their truck.

I took all the plastic trim pieces except the ones that cover the computer and the 2 rear seatbelt spools. The noise did go up but just a little bit, not too bad. As far as prep work there were like some factory sorta particle mats glued to both sides of front floor boards and under the center console.

I took a puddy knife and scraped all that crap off. I then took a wire brush attacked to an electric drill and wire brushed the metal to get all misc adhesive and whatnot off.

Then I took a very coarse sand paper and hand sanded the entire thing, not to bare metal just to scuff it up so the liner would stick. I vacuumed all loose dirt/particles up and wiped the whole thing down with a clean cloth. Easy prep work
