I am just about finished converting my 87 to carb (dont ask why.) I wired in the duraspark module but i'm not sure about the red and white wire. I looked at a diagram and they are supposed to go to a ballast resistor. Is this ballast resistor necessary or can i bypass it. If i need it where do i get one and how much? Thx fellas

i'm pretty sure oone of them just goes to the starter solinoid so the ignition gets a full 12v at start up, you've already wired the duraspark module in but another option is useing a gm module out of and hei distributor, http://www.fordsix.com/duraspark.htm , i went this route and was a easy as hell took all of 45 min.. but anyway back to your question i think you could bypass it but not sure sorry couldn't be of more help.
