did my search but didnt find exactly what i was looking for.

truck engages into 3rd gear from a stop. downshifts into 2nd at about 25mph (but erratically) 1st and 2nd on the column both engine 2nd gear.

swapped around the relays, no change. took it to a tranny place and they told me when they dropped the pan they found metal shavings. but didnt save them to let me see them.

i've received alot of training to know when people are lying. this guy was. i spent 240 bucks for a tranny flush and the same issues as when i picked it up.

can someone please let me know what type of damage im looking at here??

If they found metal shavings in the pan, then it's possible that the planataries are eating themselves up. But if you don't get grinding an the like, I doubt it.

Have you checked the MLPS? Hows the fluid before the flush? Burnt?

never had any noises come from the tranny. shifts were always firm, but never back breaking.

the fluid looked and smelled fine... im sure it tasted okay too...

the issue happened suddenly, actually while i was driving. it was doing fine until i pulled into a parkingspot, engine running for 30 secs and put it in reverse. when i went back into drive, it never went into 1st gear again. i think im gunna take it to 1 or 2 more transmission places this week and see if i get the same outcome.

the e4od has solenoid packs in it and you might have the first gear pack burned or shorted. i dont know how to check it but a specialist could one that you trust! and i had a similar prob but it would only do it after it got warm

I'd try pulling codes first, but then that's in the E4OD diagnosis thread mentioned earlier.
