I’ve searched a bit, but didn’t see any remotely recent subject matter on this…..

But, has anyone tried these? I had pretty good luck with a set for my 05 F150 5.4, so I’m open to trying them for my 96 Bronco. They said they’ll fit a 4x4, when I contacted the seller(s), but that just makes me sure I can get my $ back via eBay (minus time and shipping back) if they don’t.

I’m tempted to test them out, modify if possible if they arent 100% bolt-on out of the box.

Anyone try these yet? Opinions?

Being yours is a 96. you will at the minimum need to add more o2 sensor bungs. Not sure if the long tube part will mess with the computer enough to throw a CEL. It does sometimes as typically you have to move it further away from the stock location.
Also while these will physically bolt up to the engine, if they are long tubes like shown none of the rest, or the exhaust is gonna work. You will end up making whole new exhaust. Usually this means having to get creative to get around the tcase, and potentially have lower then stock tubes to do so. You will have to decide if worth all the effort. These are the 2 big reasons why most of the board will recommend and use shorty style headers instead. Also the gains will be minimal since the stock intake does not flow well, nor do the stock heads. That said they do sound really nice usually. Nice deep balanced tone.

I hear you, nothing is staying oem. Im pulling my long block to update the oil pan gasket and rear main, and anything else I can do while Im in there.

Exhaust is going 100% aftermarket, stainless and using v-band clamps for all connections. Copy on the intake and heads, keeping the factory stuff for now. Wanted to do a GT40 setup, but have other priorities for now. Sound and appearance is all I currently expect. The e.man’s came off without a single bolt snapping, but I can’t bring myself to put them back on. I’d need fresh gaskets and hardware…..might as well switch it up with aftermarket goodies.

I was reading non-knock off long tubes will generally need to be clearanced for the front driveline…. And they’re all mildsteel, coated at best.

I am just going to roll the dice on this one, and pick up a set.

They’re 304 stainless (I think the flanges are chrome plated mild steel) and 14 or 16ga. I’m in Salt Lake City, I’ll put em to the test ;)
Give it a shot and let us know how it turns out.

I’m ordering a set and am going to take a chance. I went down a rabbit hole and found a company with the same header design (triple the cost before shipping) and they said they were designed on a 2wd truck, they hadn’t test fit on a 4wd and to proceed with caution. I’ll take the chance. I’m used to platforms with 0 aftermarket support, this is a good place to start.

I’ve got a rear shackle flip, which already calls for a reworking of the tailpipe section, why not make it interesting with an entire reworked exhaust?

You get what you pay for
IF they fit correctly, they’re already made out of better material than most commercially available headers. I’ll take 304 stainless over 409 or bare/painted/coated mild steel.

The set for my 05 5.4 (with arp studs and good felpro gaskets) have been fine and still look good after 12 years. There are good knock offs, but generally you’re correct.

They look a lot better than I'd expect for such a low price, but the minimal tack welding of the tubes to the flanges looks concerning. It might be worth going over those spots more fully before installing.

My thoughts exactly, I thought that was weird that’s all they did.

I bought these off ebay like 3-4 years ago and never got around to installing them... not sure if it's the same seller, but if you look where the tube meets the flange, they do have good bead all around the inside of the pipe.

the pipes are not magnetic, but the flange itself is weakly magnetic:

If you do go ahead with the install, I'll be very interested to know what modifications are necessary... I bought them b/c i was annoyed at failing state inspection but never got around to finding a good exhaust shop. They are still on my "to do" list though :ROFLMAO:

That’s a relief on the welding. They say they chrome plate the 3/8” flange for “corrosion protection”, so I’d assume they’re mild steel, so that makes sense.

What do the collectors actually measure? they say 2.75”

I ordered a set, Im going to build a new y-pipe, but I’d like to get them installed on the Bronco before I buy anything else. I want to see where the collectors end up. I’d like to make one with a high flow 2-1 magnaflow cat, but may have to run 2 separate cats….

Ok, ordered goodies to attempt this.
Stage 8 locking bolts, remflex gaskets, 3” stainless v-clamps for the collector connections. More to come, once they’re installed

The V-clamps might add to the interference, but what do I know. Time will tell. I would wait till the headers are installed on the vehicle to see what route you need to go down!!!! V-clamps or Band clamps or ????? Make sure you order the correct length bolts to go with the flange thickness and the thickness of the Remflex gaskets and any washers under the head of the bolt iirc the gaskets are .125" (1/8") and compressed they are .0625" (1/16"), so make sure when installed you have 5 threads of engagement min on the bolts.

Good points, thanks for the response
