Just a quick FYI.....Edelbrock is in the process of moving their manufacturing facility out of CA. In November 2020, right after Thanksgiving I ordered the Edelbrock upper and lower intake manifolds during the cyber Monday sale. Being the cheap (and now regretful) bastard that I am, I used Dash-Cams advice about saving money and did NOT order the whole kit (upper & lower) but ordered the upper from Summit and the lower from Jegs. The lower manifold is a Mustang piece that you simply have to plug an EGR outlet at the back and you are good to go. The upper manifold from Summit showed up in about 4 days. The lower from Jegs was initially “available”....then changed to December 15th availability, which rolled to January 15th availability, which has now rolled to MAY 15th!!! A quick check of both Summit and Jegs shows that none of these manifolds are available either separately or as a kit. I sure hope Edelbrock gets their crap together and actually starts producing these manifolds again.

for 302 or 351? your info says for 302. or are you swapping a 351?

i will always find those Edelbrock truck intakes overprices and overrated. thats why i get used aftermarket mustang style intakes significantly cheaper and cleaner apeparence.

you might consider getting the 351 intake ported by BigDog Porting. they posted recently about thier stage 2 porting of a 351 itnake surpassing the Edelbrock and being fraction of the price. click the FB symbol on the top right to open

if your doing a 302 i would stick with the stock intake. its pretty decent

Ahhh yes, 302 vs 351. I have BOTH actually. I’ve got a 1996 EB w/ 351 and a 1995 EB w/ 302. The Edelbrock intake I am hoping to have appear on my front porch is for the 1996 w/ the 351. One of the mods on here told me how to list both trucks in my info but the directions quickly surpassed my limited computer capabilities and I gave up.

Any idea how much the Big Dog porting costs?

My engine is currently being rebuilt and I have the full Edelbrock intake to go on it, but if this is better for a reasonable price, I may do it instead.

Any legitimacy to their claims? I've seen the youtube videos they have.

I just looked at their FB page, looks interesting. I can’t tell what they charge or how far they are backed up though without sending them a message. It even took some investigating to find out where they were located (IL).

on the mustang forums hes not as well known as Tmoss (who you might also ask about porting it). ive seen the 2 of them butt heads about porting. honestly if i was going to have something ported i would go Tmoss because alot of people trust his work. but idk what he can achieve with the truck intakes

found this also. saying a 270$ for stage 2

It isn't so much of Edelbrock moving as it is a shortage of aluminum. Every intake head and block manufacturer in the US is behind. Some say the shortage is because of more people working from home and those not working drinking more beer. LOL. I don't know if that is true or if it is because of limited production due to covid restrictions. I think Edelbrock moving does not involve the foundry they own but more of office and warehouse operations. You can't actually move a foundry. That would be a long term project and is the life blood of Edelbrock.

One of the largest aluminum smelting companies in the us is located just outside of Portland and has been running on 25% staff since the beginning of the pandemic...

That is awesome, thanks for posting that! To add a new variable to the equation, I'm partial to LS engines, so 95BroncoKid, why not cut your losses and go with an LS manifold designed for our 351W, lol!!!

for my particular 408 build i considered those Holley intakes as i sorta need a 'box' style intake liek the Trickflow Box R. they have that one going straight forward and they have one going out the side.

on a normal truck engine, these would be terrible. the one to the side is also pretty ugly. but the one pointed forward requires a special distributor or to EDIS in order to clear the intake.

i ended up buying a used Edelbrock Victor intake hoping it will clear my firewall. otherwise i might try the Box-R since i already have the lower.

would probably be inches inside the firewall then tho

the reason i didnt go Box-R is the lightning guys say it hits the firewall. can only imagine an 90mm TB pointed backwards

i agree. tmoss has nothing but positive on his work as well as backup on performance. just not sure if hes done a 351 truck intake, the 302/holly systemax stocker almost flows what the edelbrock truck does. you just have to know what to look for or port match the 302/systemax upper to the 351 lower, which has been done but not flow tested but was dynod with pretty good results with dish pistons, ots cam, 40p's and the homemade intake setup. per
im sure you can port a stock intake but its gonna take a lot of work, notice how he raised between the upper/lower which looks welded, so if hes a good welder, it will hold up but if not.
i found mine on ebay for around 500 for the upper/lower and after install, could def feel the torque increase. im sure hp but wasn't noticable like the torque. what i ended up with is the edelbrock upper/lower, bbk twin 56 and a 1" spacer, tons of room if you need to work under the passanger side of the intake. im running large valve 40's and a 5.o ho cam advanced to the a8 setting, full exhaust and its a beast.
