Hey guys, just got a 78 bronco.. after it gets warmed up it runs fine. but when it sits for a while it will crank, idle good for 5 seconds, then start to sound like its getting clogged maybe? not sure. then it cuts off.. if the gas pedal is pushed down, the engine will stay on and seem to be fine. when shifting into a gear it may or may not stay on, but if it does stay on it will only stay on for a max of 5 seconds. Ive been reading about something in the tranny??? but it will cut off even if you dont shift it.. also read about the fuel pump may cause it.. dont have lots of money to start guessing. anything will help!!!!

78 full size. 351 5.8L V8 Carb.. no lift or mods yet.. waiting to install after i get the bronco to run right!!! :) thanks!!!!!

fuel filter first, and then probly fuel tank cause its rusty. just a guess. and dont poke a hole in the filter cause it clogs up every fifteen minutes, that causes bigger problems! dont ask how i know.
