i have a bronco that i have not run in at least 2 yrs, did all the prep stuff cranked over have oil pressure but no start. now i dont have spark and i dont have a alternator on, just using battery to start, it spins fine but no spark. do i need an alternator hooked up to get spark, other wise i will try a new coil, then distributor, already swapped ignition module. its a 351m

No you don't need the alt hooked up. First I'd check for any corroded/loose/bad grounds. Then I'd check the connection to the coil and probably replace. I'd also throw a new cap and rotor on there. However, it's been sitting two years and you said you did have spark to begin with...you may also want to try running from a gas can with good gas...to eliminate fuel delivery as an issue.
