Engine temp gauge is inoperable in my 1984 XLT. Search showed some good info on the 90-96 years. I wanted to toss a new sensor/thermostat on to try a quick fix. What sensor do I need and where is it located are my 2 main questions. If this doesn't work, or if it's too expensive just to throw $$ at the part, I'll diagnose from there.

Thanks!

great diagram, I appreciate the help. Do I need to replace the ECT and the sending unit if I'm just throwing parts at it?

So... this looks a lot like a fuel injected intake diagram. I have an 84' which has a carb. Did ford make factory 84 broncos with a fuel injected 351? I'm assuming my sending unit is in another location, but you know what happens when you assume.
