i just discovered this week that both exhaust manifolds are cracked. also, the previous owner had some y-pipe work done and i'd rate that shoddy at best.

what does everyone have as far as aftermarket headers and y-pipe? anyone make a true dual setup for these trucks? i'm not worried about having to keep the cats, we don't have a sniffer test.

well i think you will need the y pipe for your OZ sensor. someone will probably chime in with a way around this.

I had the same problem as you, and it'd just about fume me out of the truck sometimes, though only the driver's side was cracked badly. Now, I have Summit headers and a Bassani off-road pipe going into a Flowmaster 50 series. Best money spent on this truck so far. Mileage picked up big time, as did the power across the band. FYI, the Summit headers ARE cheap, in more ways than just price. I had to do a little bit of work to get 'em to fit properly and look good. I went with the Bassani pipe because I just didn't have the time (or heated garage) to make my own. However, the quality of the pipe is just amazing and well worth the cost.

Do a search on exhaust, you'll find the answers you're looking for. :thumbup

I have true 2.5" duals and aftermarket Mustang headers, for the o2 sensor I had the exhaust place make up an H pipe with a piece of 1.5" pipe linking the two 2.5" pipes, almost like the stock setup, works fine.

Go to an exhaust shop that welds (not midas or the like), they can make you up anything

I got true duals, all new piping and mufflers for $290 installed :shrug

I have no cats, but they just welded on a bung for the O2 sensor.

the problem with that is that it's EXPENSIVE :)

they wanted $500 to put it back stock! i'd rather just put on brand new aftermarket stuff for $500.

Sounds like you need to find a different shop. I had my cat back replaced with a new hi-flo from Catco, a flowmaster 40 delta, two outlet with custom bent pipe angled out behind the tires and two 18" chrome angled tips for 300 bucks.

well, from my pile of Mustang stuff, i've got a set of Hedman longtubes and a set of MAC equal length shortys.

will either of these work on my 92 5.0 Bronco? which one would be best? should i just sell them and get some designed for the truck?

i plan to have a shop fabricate exhaust from the collectors back, so i'm not worried about having to use the stock Y pipe.
