ok,

I've got a 1990 302 aod with 150K miles

I'm wanting to do something to the exhaust.
I've already got the Autozone 3" mandrel bent pipe

and a couple choices of mufflers

one is a 2.25" in / out (offset) strait thru, Magnaflow msrp $195 (I actually have 2 of these lying around in my garage)

built kinda like this:

or
a new 3" in/out Moroso Spiral flow (staneless) msrp $100 also sitting in my garage

any opinions would be great.

btw,
I intend to replace my stock "Y" pipe with a Bassani
or equivilant (if I can find one)

Edit:
probably this Catco Y-Pipe

If you have stainless magnaflows laying around, use them.

If your looking to save some $$ on a new muffler, Force Automotive and summit both make Flowmaster clones for real cheap. Also the Summit brand Turbo muffler seems to be a rebadged Thrush Turbo, wich flows quite well.

If you want to do somthing really diferant try the spiral flow.

But the best sounding mufflers I have ever heard are Spintech's.

I'm not gonna buy a muffler,
I've got $500 worth of mufflers lying around my house :twak
I just saw the prices and thought you were actually gonna use hard earned money on them:toothless

the magnaflows were on my GTO when I got her,

I'm a big Magnaflow fan. I have two Broncos (1978 w/400M&C6, and 1989 w/351WEFI&AOD). The magnaflows are great, nice rumble at idle and throaty under heavy acceleration. I bought the stainless in both cases. :chili:

well,

the "y" pipe was on backorder (should be in on friday)
and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the Morosso twister (and sell the Magna's)
