I have a 92 f150 wiht the 4.9l i6. It idles ok, already cleaned the iac and throttle body, but once i shift it into reverse without giving it more gas it stalls. I can prevent the stall by giving it gas, but since im selling it soon i dont wanna sell it with any problems. Do anyone know what could be causing this?

The most common cause of this is a leak between the transmission pump and the reverse gear. What happens is it loads up the reverse passage and increases line pressure not allowing it to slip enough thus causing the engine to have a load and the rpm's to drop to the point of dying.

This info came from a good friend who owns a trans shop.

Did a quick search. This was from 74fordguy in another thread. Here is the link to that thread http://fullsizebronco.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45111&highlight=Stalls+reverse

There are probaby more threads on this.

Hope it helps.

Solid.
