I am in the middle of the F350 MC upgrade. I got the MC out late last night. I seem to think the eyelet on the MC is smaller then the eye on the new MC and the push rod is shorter. It was late and I did not have the new and old MC side by side. I am just working from memory.

Are the eyelet on the booster and the pushrods different lengths from 78 to 79 ?

The 79 Bronco and 79 F350 eyelets and pushrods are the same size right ?

My title and Vin say I have a 79 Bronco but I think maybe I have a 78 body. How else could I confirm that I have which body I have ?

Edit:
For those unfamiliar this is what I am trying to do

78 and 79 boosters are different for both the bronco and the f350 in the way they connect to the pedal linkage.. My bronco is a 79 but for some reason needed a 78 F350 booster, you could have the same issue. From what I understand this is not usually the case.

'79 F350 has three different booster setups - 4X2, 4X4, cruise control models are three separate part numbers, from what I understand.

That is the problem I am having. The 79 booster/MC clearly doesn't look anything like the old one that came out. According to the pics on autozones website mine looks exactly like the 78 booster/MC.

The tag in the door says its a 79 but the build date is Oct 78. I wonder if the first few months of the 79 model year they were using left over 78 parts.

For all I know the body could have been swapped and the body could be a 78.

Is there a tag or Vin stamp somewhere on the body I can check to see if the body has a different Vin ?

I do not believe there was a cruise control F-350. Just 150s and Broncos.

You have the 4x2 booster and the 4x4 booster.

AFAIK, the pedal box is the same on all pickups and the Bronco. That means all the boosters are interchangeable. When I did mine, I found that the boosters and masters may NOT be interchangeable. I had to have a 350 booster to work with my 350 master, but they bolted right into the truck with no problem.

Just thought I would give an update.

I confirmed my Vin and stuff and everything says I have a 79, but my Booster and MC are 78. I got the 78 F350 booster/mc and got the stock bracket off and on the new parts and bolted in the truck.

I must point out to anyone that hasn't done this yet. On the bracket that bolts the booster to the firewall there are these little pins that connect the booster push rod to the brake pedal. Those stupid pins where rusted together like I have never seen. I ended up soaking the whole bracket in rust remover over night and cutting the old booster rod inorder to get it free.
