I finally towed a real load with the F350. I've been fixing things here and there to get it where I'm comfortable towing with it. I had pulled my trailer empty with it and it didn't tow very good, jerked the truck around, it pulled much better behind the excursion. So I lowered the trailer by putting the axles on top of the springs to better match the height of the F350 and it tows much better, the hitch on the excursion was quite a bit higher.
I thought it was pretty cool that the first thing it towed was a chevy with a bad tranny.:thumbup Here's a crappy cell phone pic loaded up and ready to go.

I don't know what it is about those old trucks, but my 79 F350 handled a trailer better then anything else I've ever had. Thats including a few new F350's too. It didn't have ship for power so it would not go up a hill out of 1st gear, and it couldn't pull anything big through the wind, but with a lot of weight on flat ground or down hill or on rough curvy roads it was a beautiful thing.
