Hello all! I'd love to see pictures of your firearm (either dedicated carry or just truck gun) storage solutions in your bronco. I've thought about mounting a left handed pistol draw holster like a Fobus or something to the left side of the center console, or maybe putting a standard right side draw *inside* of the console in order to provide a place to holster a firearm during driving.

I normally carry IWB and it can be uncomfortable on drives and tear up your seats.

Also I have seen some of the steering wheel column holsters and I'm not sure I like those as I have long legs and that would just get in the way.

Dunno if this thread will get much action. Kinda personal. Possibly because dudes don't like to reveal there porn or weed cache...let alone divulge where they are stashing their piece :shrug. I do think there have been a few threads on this topic though.

Check out Gun Creek Customs. I don't know what steering column mounts you've looked at before, but I'm 6'4" and like to sit up close to the wheel and have used this in my '09 F150 and '13 Explorer with no issue. Carry a full size frame in it.

I'm still trying to find the time to put a magnet in my Bronco in about the same position that I have it in my truck:

I prefer it there or on the left side of the center console. Problem is fitting my hand between the console and my pistol to draw quickly... the margin of error is then too high to have an unobstructed draw. Spacers, or just simply another stowage location, is what I'm going to have to do.

EDIT: After a little google-foo I found THIS. I kinda like it... I think I may get one. I have one problem with it though, I swap between a pocket pistol and a full-size depending on what I'm doing or what I'm wearing... so I would have to swap the holster out everytime... which is really just a first-world problem.

I guess. The wife has cwp. I just drag her with me.
Why not get a CWP of your own?

Also, to carry one in your vehicle in Florida, You don't need a CW license. It only requires that it be secured in some manner. Be it in your glove compartment or in a holster ont eh seat with a strap that prevents it from being knocked around and potentially discharged by accident.

Seen those before, heard them called carrying "mexican style" I believe.

Not as a racist remark I don't think, but because apparently having a clip like that on an illegal firearm was popular (or is popular) in Mexico because when the Federalis show up you can throw it out and they can't prove it was yours because you're not carrying a holster for it.

I have one of those Clip draw type units for my 1911. Tried it for a bit but just couldn't get used to it. It also didn't work that great with my ambi-safety on it.

If I find it. You want it?

On a long trip any gun gets heavy and cumbersom.

I always wanted to put a left handed BladeTech (I'm right handed) mounted on the left side of the console. The issue is I don't want to drill holes in my console.

For storage I use one of these TEK screwed in the bottom of my console. Not easily accessable.

I will come up with something this weekend and post.
