Holy Shit guys. My town is surrounded by fires. I went to the casino last night and we saw one of the fires starting and called 911 and they said they were aware of it. I woke up this morning to a red sky and they say that the casino might burn inthe next hour. So i have fire to the east and to the south (locally) and a big one to the north. Very scary. Already 5 confrimed fatalities. here are some pics of the sky i just shot...

And i just saw on the news on tv from the arial helicopter view of the freeway and how there are 6 lanes of gridlock traffic and the fire is pretty damn close to it. If the wind changes....holy shit

The 15 freeway has been shut down and the fire has jumped accross it. The channel 8 news is about a mile away formt he fire the news anchors were saying. they are thinking about evacuationg. 40 homes have burned in Scrips ranch and still growing with all the shake roof homes. Out in Ramona where I was last night, there is little coverage since the one fire is so close to urban areas, but they have confirmed 7 deaths. The winds are blowing up to 54 mph gusts. The fire fighters were saying that they were seeing Whole 15-20 foot tree limb embers flying through the air from all the wind that the 100 foot high flames generate. Doesnt look like its gonna stop soon. ALl the air support is deployed in other counties.

Just got back from work. I work for Pet Co and we had to evacuate 2 of our stores so far..been a long day for me. So far over 100,000 acres burned. For anyone familiar basically the 15, 52, 8, part of 805 freeways are all closed. My house is in Escondido and a direct path from Ramona so we're starting to pack up and move our vehicles out. Very sad day, 10 confirmed dead. I have driven through the fire in Poway and there are like 3 CDF engines holding the fireline there..nothing else. They've asked for EMS volunteers but I can't get to the Stadium due to all the freeway closures. Anyhow, hopefully the fire won't get here but if it does I'll try to post sometime in the future.

I just read that they moved the game to Sun Devil Stadium b/c of the concern about the fires. I hope they get it under control soon...I was born in San Diego. Any further news would be appreciated. It does sound like BC again, only with more population. My best to everyone...

Just got in from a long day. Went to the Ex-girlfriends because she lives very close to one front of the blaze here in Escondido. They have so much shit that I moved into the bronco its unbeliveable...all their pictures and stuff. But the fires are chillin out...for now. They burned Scrips Ranch really bad. Something like 160 homes were burned. They worked really hard onteh fire north of us near my ex's...which is good because all the fires are moving south west into all the residential. Its crazy seeing the map of all the fires to where cmayer and I live... looks like this

I am the bottom black cirlce and my EX is the top black circle.

So were are basically surrounded...we will see waht happens int he morning

O yea and there is so much ash in the air falling everywhere. Its like its snowing out. Driving around int eh bronc made me think like I was in the movie Dante's Peak. Pretty scary. Unless the winds miraculously die down 2morrow, I will probably be getting my Ex out of her place. =(

And Andy, I give your dad props. Those flames are so huge...50-100 feet tall when the gusts were going. Hes got balls to be a hero. :)

my cousin live in San Marcos. my dad is in rancho cucamonga tonite (last i heard). he said he would probably be going down to San Diego in a couple days.

the winds are supposed to keep going for a couple more days and when the winds die down, the fire will probably spread into the hills which = lots more fire.

so far over 250,000 acres burned.
260 homes gone in San Diego county
300+ gone in San Bernardino county

It seriously feelt like we were at war today.

I got a call from my bro last night, they were up in rancho cucamonga for the weekend at a friends cabin and they had to evacuate..He said the sky in San Diego is red and practically everything is covered with ash.. We had it bad like that here down in Florida in '98, when it was all done I think we lost close to 500,000 acres. Be safe guys.:thumbup
