Hey guys, I need some help on this one. I have an 89 with 351ci and C6.
All stock. Ran great until the other day. It began to fluxuate at idle between 400 and 900 rpm progressively getting worse until it stalls.
It will run if I keep my foot on the gas pedal and stabilize it at 800 rpm.
I just changed the Air idle control valve, it helped but only slightly. I also noticed that it will spit out black smoke from the exhaust right when I rev the engine with a mild hesitation. I don't think its oil burning but you can definety smell it. I use synthetic oil, Amsoil 20/50 racing oil. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks, Jeremy

Make sure your vacuum modulator is hooked up. The line came off the one on my Blazer and it did this. Hooked back up and right as rain.
