I picked up a 4GB SD card and it won't format in any of my cameras. Can anyone help?

Got a card reader for the computer (as opposed to just connecting the camera via USB) ? I had to format one in windows once to get it to work.


Also, check the lock on the side of the card; it wont format if its locked.

I have a card reader, both and external, and on the PC itself. I'll check both. Thanks.

There may be 2 formats (im 99%sure) you can use when you open my computer find it and right click. I had to try them bolth for mine.

With the SD card that is 4GB you need to make sure it is one your camera accepts. My point and shoot that I carry in my purse has an SD card but it had to have a SDHC format card if it was over 2GB according to my owner's manual. You might want to check that.
