30 PSI at idle is what most folks get with V8 engines. A few PSI +/- is acceptable. If the pressure will not rise above 30 PSI with the vacuum line removed or tested under load you have a problem. What was wrong with the old pressure regulator?
It was one of those "while I'm in there" scenarios. I cleaned up the old oem one and put it back on. I primed the pump a few times and it popped an injector out of the rail before the FPR allowed fuel to the return line.
