I have been searching for a 8 lug front for my 79 bronco. I am having problems finding a ford dana 60 for a price I can afford or for trade. is there a cheaper option that I can still afford and has little modification to the original parts

You can convert your D44 to ate lug - search for it, there is a lot of info on the swap here..

I can do that with 8 lug outers, right?
piece of cake. F-250 outers is what I'm running on my trail rig..and what I just put on the Chebby 44 that is in the Scout 800 rig we're building for fella right now.. One outer fits all...:toothless

it will be easier to source GM 8 lug outters, they were on all the late 70's dana 44 and when GM went to their 10 bolt up front they work as well.

Knuckles out. use new ball joints and seals bearings if needed.

maybe..if the ball joints, bearings, calipers and rotors are good shape and ready to use with some grease and new seals (doubtful...). Otherwise..no. Around here you practically can't give complete 77-79 F-250 HD44 axles away complete, if everything needs to be rebuilt/replaced as it usually does.

But..ya gotta what ya gotta do with what you can find..:thumbup
