... is it easy/ worthwhile/ stupid to remove front diff permanently?
my off-road days are over but I still want to drive a bronco --a 2WD version

Just drive it in 2WD then. Not really sure why you would want to do that. I drive mine in 2WD all the time and I never even would think about the labor to convert the front axle to a 2WD TTB.

Pull the front driveshaft and you'll never have to think about going into 4WD again.

The driver side (er, American driver side) TTB beam may not be strong enough to withstand not having the diff on it.

If you're really set on it, pull the third member, and the axle shafts. Put the lockouts back in, so you dont have open holes on the outside. You'll still have an open hole on the back side of the hub, where any and all contaminants will work their way into your wheel bearing. So you'll have to come up with a seal for that.

Or just swap it all with parts from a 2wd f150
