im putting a lift in my 1993 f150 and i need a new u joint for my front axle. can i just slide it out of the transfer case or do i have to do it while its on my truck. im asking this because on the lift instructions it says not to take it out or damage may occur to the transfer case due to improper reinstallation. wouldnt it just slide back in and be good?
Thanks

You need a u joint for your axle or drive shaft? Your front shaft should just be a strap assy' on each end. It'd be 4 bolts on each end. What are you sliding out? It sounds like you are talking about a mix of an axle shaft and a prop shaft..

OOOOHHHH, you want to leave the slip yoke on and the rest of the shaft out. :doh0715: Don't do that, it'll be out of balance. You can mark arrows (try to etch them so they dont go away) and line it up perfect..then you'll be ok.
