Im in the middle of replacing my rusty gas tank and the fuel lines to the pump wont disconnect. I put the d/c tool in there and 1 went, but the smaller one just wont come off. did i miss something important?

Try rinsing inside the fitting with penetrating oil a few times. Then push the line FIRMLY onto the pump, hold it there while FIRMLY inserting the tool, then use the tool to push the fitting off the line. If it absolutely won't move, you can dig the spring clip out of the fitting, separate the line, then fix & reinstall the clip, or buy a new one for ~$8.

thanks for the hlep steve, the spring lock thingy you were talking about was snafu so i made it fubar, i guess ill be buying another tomorow.

NAPA sells replacement fuel line ends, but you can just pull the spring clip out & put it in your original fitting, without cutting/repairing the line.
